About the publication
About the newsroom & editorial policy
KBSDC is an independent business publication based in Kyiv. We cover law, tax, investments, banking, grants and business development for owners and senior managers.
Mission
We help Ukrainian entrepreneurs make informed decisions. Our articles explain complex topics in plain language, cite the law, and rely on data and the practice of specialised experts. We do not give advice "in general" — every piece answers a concrete question a business owner is dealing with.
Coverage
- Law: contracts, disputes, business registration, labour relations.
- Tax: consulting, structure optimisation, support during tax audits.
- Finance and investments: banking support, raising capital, grant programmes.
- Banking: products for business, compliance, anti-money-laundering.
- Business development: strategy, management accounting, owner–team dynamics.
Principles
- Independence. The newsroom decides on topics, subjects and angles. No advertiser, partner or outside party can require us to pull or alter an editorial piece.
- Fact-checking. Before publication we verify legal norms, figures and quotations. When data changes over time (rates, thresholds, exchange rates), the article states the date on which it is accurate.
- Sources. Articles that rely on regulation or statistics cite their sources: laws, official clarifications, statistical bodies, research. The list of sources is published under the text.
- Conflict of interest disclosure. When an author or expert personally represents one of the parties involved, this is stated in the piece.
- Right of reply. When a company or public figure is criticised in a piece, we give them an opportunity to present their position before or after publication.
Editorial vs sponsored content
Editorial content is produced by the newsroom on its own initiative and is not paid for by the subjects or companies mentioned.
Sponsored content is commissioned and paid for by an external partner. Such pieces always carry a clear "Sponsored content" label at the top of the article, together with the sponsor's name. We do not publish sponsored content that violates our editorial standards, misleads readers or contains unverified claims. Terms are described on the Advertising page.
Authors and experts
Editorial pieces are written by in-house authors; specialised analyses come from practising experts — lawyers, tax consultants, auditors, finance professionals. Author bios are available in the Experts section. Every article names its author, and their materials are collected on a dedicated author page.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error, please follow the procedure on the Corrections page. Updated pieces carry an "updated on" date in the article header.
